WalletHub ranked the safest cities in America. They compared the cities across 41 relevant metrics of safety, including the number of mass shootings, the unemployment rate, and the quality of roads. Also included were factors such as financial safety and the risk of natural disasters. (so it’s not only about crime) Each metric was weighted and the cities were graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the safest possible city.

Here are the 10 safest cities with their scores

Columbia, Maryland: 85.33
Yonkers, New York: 84.80
Plano, Texas: 83.54
Gilbert, Arizona: 83.44
South Burlington, Vermont: 83.33
Virginia Beach, Virginia: 83.22
Bismarck, North Dakota: 82.92
Nashua, New Hampshire: 82.84
Chandler, Arizona: 82.54
Warwick, Rhode Island: 82.17
Please note that the safest city, Columbia, Maryland, has a score of 85.33. This is not 100. No city ranked higher than 85.33, which means that there are no perfectly safe cities with scores fo 100, or even 90 or even 86 for that matter. This means that no matter where you live you cannot be 100% certain than you are completely safe.
